I initially became aware of this independent film through the Trike community on facebook. I approached it with an open mind, as I am interested in learning to fly a microlight type aircraft. As the story unfolds it becomes much more than two fellas transporting themselves across the rough Australian outback, 4 stories start to unfold.
Story 1
A childhood dream that started with a father taking his young son for a flight became a dream to fly himself, but at what cost to himself and his family?
Story 2
The background of the Indigenous peoples story and giving us an insight into their traditions and way of life
Story 3
The wives of the two trike pilots and their despair of the challenge that lay ahead, driving on the ground following the trikes is where the real challenge lay or is it?
Story 4
The lost song and the trail blazing unexpected twist in the end!
The challenge, the ignorance, the stupidity, the unknown and the highlighting of how much learning, white Australia has to go before it catches up with its inhabitants, a number of lessons on respecting and embracing cultural divides is a key component of this video. I shudder to think how far the visitors of Australia have yet to understand their welcoming and embracing friends, the two trike pilots have a very healthy respect for their indigenous friends and quite rightly engage them fully, this was a master stroke within the wall of little to no experience as pilots and I have no doubt brought them more security than they may have realised.
I cannot recommend this multi-dimensional film highly enough, it is one of the surprises of the Internet. Well worth the dollars in my personal opinion. I would recommend dropping the prices, if the objective is to get as wide and large an audience as possible, as with all higher priced items they generally end up being copied and sent over the torrent network. Mass Market will demand a 2.99 tag and possibly syndicating it with netflix will ensure success.
Great independent film and I wish it every success in educating the wonderful adventure in all of us and for spreading that message, Australias survival depends on embracing its indigenous population, after all they know the land upon where you all live.
Thank you I really enjoyed the film.
